Maple is a high-growth suburban community in Vaughan. With its picturesque tree-lined streets and houses, top quality schools, green parks, and plethora of amenities and retail options, Maple has grown to become one of the highly demanded areas for real estate in York Region.

 

Location

As an unincorporated area, Maple does not have clearly defined geographic boundaries, but it grew around the former village of Maple. The neighbourhood of Maple is centred at the intersection of Major Mackenzie Drive and Keele Street.

The majority of housing in Maple is single detached. There are also a number of townhouses and condominiums available.

 

Transportation

Maple is centred at Major Mackenzie Drive and Keele Street. The nearest major highway exit is 3 km west at Highway 400 and Major Mackenzie. Maple residents also have close access to Highway 400 and Rutherford Road.

The southern and western parts of Maple are more industrial. In terms of proximity in relation to other municipalities, Maple is located 13 km northeast of Woodbridge, 11 km east of Kleinburg, 8 km south of King City, 6.5 km from downtown Richmond Hill, 12 km northwest of Thornhill (north of Highway 401), and southeast of Barrie.

Maple is on the GO Transit Barrie commuter line, with rail stations at Maple and Rutherford GO stations. The area is also served by Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), York Region Transit (YRT), and GO Transit. YRT’s VIVA express bus lines go through Maple.

For the outdoor enthusiasts, Maple residents can enjoy greenery in MacMillan Nature Reserve, Kortright Centre for Conservation, and Sugarbush Heritage Park. Sugarbush Heritage Park is a historic 5.9-acre park that features a children’s play area, amphitheatre, gazebo, sitting areas, a lookout point, an informal picnic area, and various walking trails. The annual Maple Syrup Festival is held at Kortright Centre, which draws hundreds to thousands of visitors each spring.
