Why Buy a Home in King Township?

The Township of King really is king when it comes to a livable neighbourhood, housing options, and green spaces. Located in the northwestern part of York Region in Ontario, King provides small-town living with amenities and plenty of parks, recreation, and cultural facilities.

Reason #1: Cost of Living Relative to Income

With an overall rural city population of around 25,000, King is an ideal place to live if you are looking for a “small town” feel with easy access to amenities. One of the advantages of smaller city living is the lower costs of living, enabling you to save more. Despite the “small town” feel, King is still within commuting distance to Toronto (for those who work there) and other major cities in the Peel and York Regions.

A York Region census release report revealed that out of all the York Region municipalities, King has the highest median household income and growth rate (28.9%) since 2006. In comparison, median household income and growth rates in Aurora, Richmond Hill, and Markham are 19.7%, 11.9%, and 11.4% respectively. This means that residents in King earn more and are able to save more because of the relatively lower cost of living, compared to its neighbouring municipalities.
